Homage to Dearest Professor Priti Shankar

The members of faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Computer Science and Automation have lost their most valuable colleague, Professor Priti Shankar who passed away on October 17, 2011, at the age of 64. She was an excellent researcher, extraordinary teacher, and an exemplary human being.

We would like to pay our homage to dear madam with deep respect through this web-based platform. We have uploaded the following documents.

• Priti Shankar: In Memoriam prepared by Jayant Haritsa with inputs from faculty colleagues.
• An autobiographical essay by Professor Priti Shankar that appeared in the volume: “Lilavati’s Daughters: The Women Scientists of India” published by the Indian Academy of Sciences in 2008.

We have received a large number of emails from all over the world by colleagues, friends, and students of Prof. Priti Shankar. We will be uploading their emails soon.

We will also be uploading a photogallery of pictures of Professor Priti Shankar taken at different times during her illustrious life.
